Teachers, Staff, and our Director
A foundation for the growth and development of your child.
St. John’s preschool has a wonderful balance between learning and playing. The early
years are when learning should be fun and full of discovery. Our philosophy is based
on the understanding that children need to be allowed to grow and develop at their
own pace, in an environment which builds self-esteem. The program is further based
on developmentally appropriate concepts and activities that relate to the growth
of the whole child in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment.
Our preschool teachers will guide your child through an array of planned activities,
free play and structured learning experiences. All these elements are presented
in a fun and exciting way to help your child grow successfully and happily. We keep
our classes small and conduct our program within a safe and creative environment.
In addition to the many hardworking teachers, staff, and volunteers St. John’s Preschool
is very fortunate to have an experienced, dedicated and supportive director. Jenny
Taylor is from Jackson, MI where she earned a B.A. from Albion College. She has
worked in Charlotte area preschool programs as both an educator and administrator
since 1998.
Preschool Advisory Committee
A parent-focused group to focus the direction of St. John's Preschool
As part of our continuing commitment to develop an educational and spiritually fulfilling
program, St. John’s Preschool created the Preschool Advisory Committee (PAC). The
PAC is comprised of members of
St. John’s Episcopal Church, non-parishioner parents, St. John’s Director
of Children’s Ministries, and the Director of St. John’s Preschool.
The purpose of this committee is to ensure that we are meeting the high expectations
of our parents, and the important trust we hold to love and educate our children.
As an advocate for parents, the PAC also works to determine curriculum for students,
resolve the concerns of parents, and other important functions.
